What motivates you to work for Corona Immunitas?

The more we know about something, the better we can make informed decisions about how to handle it, or in this case: protect people from it. So far, basically all measures taken against the spreading of this virus weren't effective enough. We need to know as much as possible, not only about the virus itself, but also about ourselves and how we interact with it. What do we know? How does this influence our behavior and our willingness to follow the sometimes harsh hygiene measures? This knowledge is crucial and Corona Immunitas helps to fill in many of these gaps.

What was your most memorable moment in the project?

I vividly remember how everyone felt during the first lockdown. All we could do was to literally not do anything. So when the first participants came to the Study Center they were not only surprised that they of all people were selected, but they were also so very happy be able to be useful and to contribute to the fight against the pandemic. I am also grateful to work with a highly motivated Team who are working very hard to implement different Corona studies in a short period of time. It’s been a wonderful experience!

Where do you see Corona Immunitas in two years?

I see it being a well of information on which we can draw to make informed policy decisions. I think its data on the mental health of its participants is and will be particularly important because, for most people, this Pandemic has been really challenging and it needs to be part of the job of Corona Immunitas to monitor our collective mental health.

What motivates you to work for Corona Immunitas?

As pediatrician, epidemiologist and mother how could I not to be interested in Corona and schools.

What was your most memorable moment in the project?

The permanent enthusiasm of schools, children and the team to be part of Ciao Corona.

Where do you see Corona Immunitas in two years?

An internationally recognized National project that helped to understand and stunt the pandemic.

What motivates you to work for Corona Immunitas?

The coronavirus pandemic has shown that a strong collaboration between scientists and public health policy-makers is crucial for reducing the spread of the virus and protecting the population. Corona Immunitas is a unique research program that brings together experts from various disciplines and aims to inform policy with timely evidence through its activities across Switzerland. As a young researcher, this network is a highly inspiring environment both to contribute scientifically and to learn from more experienced researchers.

What was your most memorable moment in the project?

In coordinating the Zurich Coronavirus Cohort study, the most memorable moment was when we started the enrolment of participants. Many weeks of work and difficult planning had led to that point, and it was exciting to see how interested people were in our research and in being part of the study. Many study participants were eager to tell us their stories and it was very interesting and often moving to hear how the coronavirus and the pandemic had directly affected the lives of those infected and their close contacts in quarantine.

Where do you see Corona Immunitas in two years?

Corona Immunitas has built a basis for coordinated research projects of public health importance across whole Switzerland. It is to hope that the most difficult phases of the current pandemic are over in two years. However, I think that Corona Immunitas will continue to be an important collaboration well beyond, both through the ongoing research on "Long Covid" and longer-term immune responses after infection and vaccination, but also in creating the basis for future epidemiological research in Switzerland.

What motivates you to work for Corona Immunitas?

The opportunity to be part of a national and great organized project, which also provides new knowledge about the current situation and thus actively shapes the future. Additionally the chance to learn from, and work with such great researcher and to grow in this project. But also how we all work as one team to achieve the common goal.

What was your most memorable moment in the project?

For me, it's the moments with the participants. Whether by phone or during visits to our study center, I experience touching, interesting and funny moments and conversations with our participants. Along with how we all work as one team to achieve the common goal.

Where do you see Corona Immunitas in two years?

That we were able to provide politicians with a basis for decision-making and are still making an important contribution to the planning of further epidemics, continuing to monitor and study the consequences of the coronavirus epidemic.
